forbidden usury

Judaism is an extremely negative attitude toward usury (lending rate called Nesheh, Tarbes or Marbach).

Relative growth in garden, in the Torah contains the following restrictions and instructions: "Do not lend upon usury to thy brother, nor silver, nor food (bread), nor anything else ... stranger lend upon usury, but unto thy brother does not lend upon usury. .. "(Deuteronomy 23: 20-21); "If you lend money to one of my people, the poor with you, then do not be his oppressor, not be imposed on him, or increase" (Exodus 22:24); "And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then it alien if he or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Do not take it from him or increase silver ... do not let him in your growth, your food does not lend for profit "(Leviticus 25: 35-38).

There are a lot of comments and explanations on this score, but they mainly deal with material and moral justification of the ban. We delve further and look at the prohibition of usury from the standpoint of the Inner Torah.

But first example on the level of feelings. In the east, quite often you can see a picture of one person to another slelat good on the shekel, and requires a good return on all hundred shekels ... (I helped him then because, as he can not me ...).

What is the summer residence of money growth? It returns, in order to obtain, based on selfishness. On a personal level, this home means the following: our ego gives us the strength to engage in Torah and observe the commandments in order to receive the award. But it separates from the Creator, so it is prohibited.

Money and Silver (Kesef) hint at the desire, lust (Kissufim). A food or (in the collective sense) Bread (Bethlehem) efforts, struggle, war (Milhama). Brother (Ah) - that of a loved one and it is the desire to receive for its own sake. Translate: Efforts in the Torah for the sake of reward only inflame egotism. This has the effect of yeast thrown into the cesspool.

But why can give rise to a stranger, the stranger (Nohri)? Nohri - is something that is alien to the original human nature. That is, altruism. And Nohri cognate Nakeer (We know, get acquainted, we understand). That is altruistic intention is that we end up (as patches) made worthy to receive. And this "someone else" is necessary to lend force, in order to correct their intention to strengthen us on the right track.

If you give money to someone poor of my people. My people (ie, people of the Creator) is called Israel - Yashar Leelo (those who have a desire to right to Gd). Poor them because they are going through faith (above reason), and despised by faith in this world. And yet they are poor because they do not require Creator reward for commandments and Torah classes. You can not "harass them, which gave a loan" - so we can not expect that faith and unselfish classes Torah and Mitzvot lead to material prosperity. For the well-being of it's life or spiritual life, which protivoprlozhno material.
